Florida man charged with battery after puppy sale argument leads to stabbing, police say

A Florida man has been charged with aggravated battery after police say he stabbed someone over a dispute about a puppy sale.
According to a release from the Orlando Police Department shared with USA TODAY Monday, officials responded to a call about a stabbing incident Saturday night.
In the release, OPD called it an isolated incident that arose over an argument about the sale of a puppy.
The victim had multiple wounds but was in stable condition, according to the release.
Suspect Jarmin McLemore, 28, was "quickly apprehended," officials said. He made his first court appearance Sunday after being charged with aggravated battery with great bodily harm, court records show.
McLemore is being held at an Orange County detention facility with a bond of $5,000, jail records showed Monday morning. The Orange County Public Defender's office, listed as his attorney, did not immediately respond to USA TODAY's request for comment on his behalf.
